I baked the cake in a ceramic pan since i use a microwave convection oven.Lakshminoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-49115847821553651522012-04-12T12:59:37.305+05:302012-04-12T12:59:37.305+05:30The cake looks really good. I have bout three strawberry plants and they don't tend to bear bigger fruits but all the small fruits they bore were really sweet and about a hundred times better than the store bought ones. Although I don't get a sufficient harvest to cook with them I am currently only munching them as a garden snack each morning when I water them.Sriranjaninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-78290561483129549662012-04-03T22:33:04.544+05:302012-04-03T22:33:04.544+05:30thank you!thank you!saffrontrailnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-77939803205607875512012-04-02T23:19:17.443+05:302012-04-02T23:19:17.443+05:30The cake looks delicious. Even from my years in Bombay, I've never tasted an utterly sweet juicy berry, even from Mahabaleshwar. May be something to do with the weather. But some of the tiny ripe ones in the garden do manage to taste sweet. Nothing like a window sill garden to start with!

@Turmeric and spice - where in India is your mom trying to grow these? Mumbai weather is not much for these kinda plants, I can say from personal experience.

@lavirgo I'm trying to incorporate my gardening notes into each post, another blog would mean that I'll neglect all my blogs :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08343211073306086159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-45003965398699321402012-03-11T08:53:39.110+05:302012-03-11T08:53:39.110+05:30This is my first time commenting on your blog, hav...This is my first time commenting on your blog, have been following it for some time now, have no idea why i haven't written before...this is such a sweet post, the cake looks yummy have to try it.Shilpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14735783001796294736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-80568622485685650082012-03-11T08:46:51.326+05:302012-03-11T08:46:51.326+05:30Cke looks gorgeous nd healthy tooCke looks gorgeous nd healthy toonotyet100https://www.blogger.com/profile/12079779480407514805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-69924190123088048752012-03-10T21:57:55.609+05:302012-03-10T21:57:55.609+05:30hi,nice to know u grow ur own stuff, y dont u star...hi,nice to know u grow ur own stuff, y dont u start blogging abt ur garden adventures as well. would enlighten many of us ...;)lavirgohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12259385806015439571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-14092446964431619712012-03-10T21:05:32.718+05:302012-03-10T21:05:32.718+05:30growing your own produce has so many charms - but ...growing your own produce has so many charms - but i agree its not for the weak ..

my mom is growing strawberries in India and every week I see her plant on face time, it is so exciting to see little red thingies sprout from the flowers !!

great cake

have a nice weekendturmericnspicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011771917483511257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23919567.post-84481853180758574802012-03-10T17:34:54.790+05:302012-03-10T17:34:54.790+05:30I have always been a fan of your gardening skills-...I have always been a fan of your gardening skills--I have a small window garden and often wonder if I'll get as good as you.

I agree with your about the strawberries--most of the ones we find here are tart, not sweet; almost orange, not red. In mahabaleshwar, though, I have eaten huge, juicy, red, sweet strawberries and luckily, they are now available for a handsome price in some Mumbai supermarkets. That cake looks great--bookmarking it to try sometime soon before the season ends!Saee Koranne-Khandekarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10319021515787837414noreply@blogger.com
