WBB # 7 Baking for Breakfast

Autumn's almost over and winter has arrived. Well atleast in most parts of the world. So what if Bombay neither has an autumn nor a propah winter, I can always think about the snow, the wind chill, the nightfall at 5 pm and the fun of wearing mufflers & woollen caps and feel happy about it.

Winter is a time when the warmth and aromas from your kitchen can cheer up the whole family. The theme for WBB# 7 is Baking for Breakfast. Breads, cakes with fruits and nuts, muffins - you get the idea? Sweet, savoury, spicy, you have a variety of options to explore!

Some of the stuff that I've baked for breakfast so far :

~Handwo
~Honey Banana Muffins
~Morning Glory Muffins
~Banana cardamom bread

Rules for the event:
1. Post your entry for the event on your blog between now and 30th November.
2. Email me the url of your post and your name before the 12 am. IST, 30th November at saffrontrail@gmail.com
3. If you'd like to have a picture posted too, resize it to 160X120 pixel or 120 X 160 for a vertical pic and mail it along with the url.
4. Your recipe should be a baked one and servable at breakfast.

So get baking and see you at the round up. My dear friend Meeta has put the spotlight on baking too. Check it out and get inspired.

Nice idea and I have a suggestion. Why don't u add steamed dishes to the theme to increase the variety... Back home, baking cakes was done by steaming in cookers before the ovens came in..

Nandita said...

Suggestion appreciated and accepted! And I do love steamed cakes :) Bring in the Vatteyappams Shaheen, I'm waiting eagerly for an authentic recipe for that yeasty steamed delicacy...

Definitely count me in :). WOW..I so wish I could live in Bombay where there is no winter hehe....

Hi Nandita,
I have recently posted a banana bread recipe in my blog, which i want to submit it to your WBB #7. I just have a question - i saw that some one has already sent a posting on banana bread for your WBB #7.Can i still send you this recipe or do you prefer something else. Please let me know.

And i also want to say that your WBB is such a good idea, where we can share so many beautiful recipes with everyone.

i am also sending a link to my url.

A clarification Nandita..maybe steaming will open up the doors to too much of idli and dhoklas! So U can keep it as baking it itself!

Hi Nandita,

This is Madhavi again, in the last posting i could not give my blog address properly, so i am sending it again.
